Under the leadership of Rev. Earl Soiland of Shelby, a congregation was established on October 24, 1930 with 82 charter members. By 1935 the congregation had grown large enough to construct a new church at the corner of First Street and 2nd Avenue SE. With Sunday School enrollment nearing 200, a new facility was built and dedicated January 2, 1955. A new parsonage was also added.
